Mourning for Prof. Hans B. Bauerfeind - Company owner of Bauerfeind AG passes away Prof. Hans B. Bauerfeind passed away on 13 July 2023, Bauerfeind AG announced. The entrepreneur, who was born in Zeulenroda, Thuringia, was 82 years old. OTWorld and Leipziger Messe deeply empathise with the death of the company owner, who developed Bauerfeind AG into one of the world's leading manufacturers of medical aids such as bandages, orthoses, medical compression stockings and orthopaedic insoles. Under the motto “From Early Support to Employment: Enabling Participation through Orthopaedic Treatment and Care” the special exhibition “Living with neurological conditions” will take place at OTWorld 2026 in Leipzig. Conceived by rehaVital, one of Germany’s largest healthcare provider networks and held under the patronage of the German Association of Orthopaedic Technology (BIV-OT), the exhibition highlights how people with neurological conditions can be supported from early childhood through to working life. At its core is the question of how optimal medical aids, interprofessional orthopaedic treatment and care and social support can enable participation in all stages of life.
