Joint Stand of Patient Associations: Hall 3, F39 – G41

Step Into Their Shoes: Orthopedic Technology in Action

The associations ahoi e.V., BMAB e.V., BuPFT e.V., LVAmpNRW e.V., and IC2A are presenting a joint self-help stand at OTWorld with hands-on experience stations. As a professional visitor, you can gain insight into how different types of disabilities affect daily life—whether walking, grasping, standing, or using assistive devices.

The stations “One-Handed in Daily Life” and “Walking with Self-Experience Prostheses” bridge the gap between the everyday realities of people with disabilities and orthopedic technology. You’ll see firsthand why precise fitting, proper adjustment, and user-oriented development of assistive devices are so important.

The stand invites you to step into a different perspective, engage with those affected, and gain new ideas for needs-based care. All visitors—orthopedic technicians, medical supply staff, physicians, insurers, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists—are warmly encouraged to talk with the associations and try out the assistive devices themselves.
