A RETROSPECT ON OTWORLD 2026
50 YEARS OF OTWORLD – SHAPING THE FUTURE OF CARE TOGETHER
In its anniversary year, OTWorld 2026 showed what drives the industry forward and brings its community together. From 19 to 22 May 2026, Leipzig welcomed 21,400 trade visitors from 92 countries, 623 exhibitors from 41 countries and more than 300 international speakers. Together, the trade show and World Congress created a space for new ideas, professional exchange and international collaboration.
At the heart of the event was a question that matters across the world: How can we help people live with greater mobility, independence and participation? From rehabilitation and education to integrated care, robotics, artificial intelligence and care in regions affected by crisis and conflict, OTWorld brought together many perspectives and practical answers.
Fifty years on, OTWorld remains a place where people come together to shape the future of assistive technology and care – in Germany and around the world.

Sharing Knowledge, Connecting Perspectives: The 2026 World Congress
How can we create a healthcare system that is forward-looking while also keeping people’s needs in mind? 2,950 participants and more than 300 speakers from over 30 countries gathered at the World Congress to share knowledge, discuss current developments, and gain new perspectives on assistive technology provision. In more than 400 presentations, experts from the fields of assistive technology practice, medicine, technology, and therapy demonstrated how innovation emerges when different disciplines and international perspectives come together. This highlighted the importance of exchange across disciplinary, professional, and national boundaries for holistic care.
Symposia, open-submission presentations, and numerous workshops combined scientific discourse with concrete practical knowledge, allowing participants to experience potential solutions firsthand. The new congress venue provided an open setting for this exchange and brought knowledge, practice, and personal interaction even closer together.
