Special Exhibition “From Early Support to Employment: Enabling Participation through Orthopaedic Treatment and Care” at OTWorld 2026

Under the motto “From Early Support to Employment: Enabling Participation through Orthopaedic Treatment and Care” the special exhibition “Living with neurological conditions” will take place at OTWorld 2026 in Leipzig. Conceived by rehaVital, one of Germany’s largest healthcare provider networks and held under the patronage of the German Association of Orthopaedic Technology (BIV-OT), the exhibition highlights how people with neurological conditions can be supported from early childhood through to working life. At its core is the question of how optimal medical aids, interprofessional orthopaedic treatment and care and social support can enable participation in all stages of life.

The exhibition guides visitors along a patient journey through key stages of life – from nursery and school to university, vocational training, and employment. Its goal is to showcase the workforce potential of people with neurological conditions and to demonstrate how targeted orthopaedic treatment and care can help restore and maintain employability. The central message: “With the right orthopaedic treatment and care, people can (re)enter employment and provide for themselves and their families.”

The exhibition addresses a wide professional audience, including health insurers, prosthetists and orthotists, rehabilitation specialists, therapists, physicians, homecare experts, as well as representatives of associations and the media. It is supported, among others, by the German Stroke Foundation and the German Society for Muscular Diseases.

In addition to exhibits, visitors can expect interactive experiences: demonstrations of medical aids, an inclusive workplace, first-hand accounts from people affected, musical contributions from the inclusive jazz band “Herzragout mit Schlag”, and experiential stations simulating impairments such as visual field loss or sensory deficits.

“Living with neurological conditions” illustrates how care can grow alongside people’s needs – and why this is more relevant than ever in times of skilled labor shortages.
