NEW: Meeting Point Orthopaedic Footwear Technology

Embedded in the "OTWorld.shoe-technology" special exhibition area in Hall 1, the Meeting Point Orthopaedic Footwear Technology is the first point of contact for all visitors hoping to learn more about sensorimotor insoles. The meeting point is run by the Competence Center for Orthopaedic Footwear Technology (KomZet O.S.T.) and the the Study Association of Orthopaedic Footwear Technology (Studiengemeinschaft Orthopädieschuhtechnik e.V.).

Sensorimotor foot orthoses play a pivotal role in orthopaedic treatment and care. They support the foot while at the same time activating the leg and foot muscles by using various stimulators. This allows misalignments to be corrected and the performance of individual muscle groups to be improved.

When fitting sensorimotor foot orthoses, orthopaedic footwear technicians require appropriate skills that go beyond basic knowledge. Above all, standards of quality and care must be clearly defined to ensure a high level of customised and indication-based care. Visitors can learn more about this important and complex topic at the Meeting Point Orthopaedic Footwear Technology in Hall 1 at Stand G16/H19.

Interactive Exchange of Ideas and Knowledge on Processes in Treatment and Care

The entire treatment process in orthopaedic footwear care will be addressed here, from anamnesis and diagnosis to production and delivery. In addition, presentations will take a look at the current evidence base and differentiations from classic mechanical insoles. Three master schools from Hanover, Langen and Siebenlehn will be joining the Competence Center for Orthopaedic Footwear Technology (KomZet O.S.T.) and the the Study Association of Orthopaedic Footwear Technology (Studiengemeinschaft Orthopädieschuhtechnik e.V.) as contact partners at the show.

Each day, two interactive lectures will be held from 10–11 am and from 3–4 pm on the following topics:

1. Examples of Orthopaedic Footwear Fitting From the Perspective of a Tradesperson
2. Measurement Methods for Optimising Treatment and Care
3. Important User Competencies
4. Examples of Orthopaedic Footwear Treatment and Care From a Medical Perspective

These interactive events are designed to facilitate the practical and interdisciplinary discussion of experiences.
