At the world congress, over 300 international speakers also presented their groundbreaking visions of the future in global orthopaedic treatment and care.
The success of OTWorld 2024 is once again testimony to its pioneering role as the world's largest event for technical orthopaedics. Across three exhibition halls, the international trade show and world congress once again set the standards for global orthopaedic treatment and care in the years to come. The focus was on central topics such as prosthetics and orthotics, digitalisation, robotics and AI as well as compression supplies, insole production and 3D printing. Special exhibitions on the treatment of neurological diseases or the provision of orthopaedic treatment and care in crisis areas as well as featured topics including 3D printing and orthopaedic footwear technology provided thematic highlights.
Partner country France also displayed its expertise in orthopaedic treatment and care. 24 French companies and experts created an impressive platform with a large collective stand and a wide range of congress contributions that gave insights into the French healthcare system. A particular highlight was the farewell ceremony for the prosthetists and orthotists travelling to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris to look after the elite athletes.
Professional Networking Opportunities at the World Congress
The 2024 OTWorld congress again proved to be an inspirational platform for professional development and international collaboration. Central topics in orthopaedic treatment and care were examined in a comprehensive programme ranging from orthopaedic insoles to orthoses made from algae. Prestigious keynote speakers such as happiness researcher Prof Dr Ricarda Rehwaldt and robotics expert Prof Dr Claudio Castellini provided inspiring insights and fresh food for thought. A particularly significant topic was orthopaedic treatment and care in crisis and war zones. Speakers from Ukraine provided valuable insights.
33 practical workshops also gave participants the opportunity to discuss care options in the presence of a patient and deepen their knowledge. This interdisciplinary platform was popular with doctors, prosthetists and orthotists and therapists who used it to further develop their practical skills.
