The ParaWalker® is an exoskeleton that enables paraplegics who are unable to walk or stand to move upright with the aid of forearm supports or walkers—step by step, in the truest sense of the word.

An exoskeleton is a mechanical framework that is attached to the outside of the body. The idea behind it is to support the body with a movable support apparatus.

The ParaWalker® is put on while sitting. Cuffs are used to secure the legs and upper body in the orthosis.

When standing up, the joints at the feet and knees lock automatically.

When used in conjunction with forearm crutches or walkers, the mechanical exoskeleton now enables walking: by shifting your weight to one side, the leg on the other side can be swung forward freely.
