The SALERA preselect is a variant of the proven SALERA 3‑D hip joint. It allows a limited active circumduction movement and is used in HKAFOs, especially for patients with lesions in the L5 to L3 area. Thanks to its smart design, the joint enables defined rotational movement even with locked adduction, while extension and flexion are limited by built‑in stop surfaces.
For optimal adaptation to mobility, gait pattern and functional requirements, the stride length can be individually adjusted using interchangeable stop wedges. Larger sliding surfaces reduce friction and help lower wear.
One important feature of the SALERA preselect is the integrated preselect function. Thanks to the preset position, the lock only releases after a slight extension of the hip, enabling controlled and safe sitting down.
