Focus on orthopaedic footwear technology - New exhibition area celebrates its premiere
From 19 to 22 May in Leipzig, OTWorld 2026 will focus on the entire spectrum of orthopaedic footwear technology – from classic craftsmanship to digital high-tech solutions. The new exhibition area OTWorld.shoe-technology will be the first central meeting place for experts from the orthopaedic footwear technology, comfort and therapeutic shoe segments – right in the heart of the trade fair and with maximum visibility.
A special focus will be on diabetic foot syndrome (DFS). In the themed area of the same name, manufacturers, experts and institutions will present current care concepts, innovative materials and digital processes – in a practical and interdisciplinary manner.
‘Innovative care concepts are an essential key to the future of patient health. OTWorld provides the stage on which these concepts become visible. Experts from all over the world come together here to develop them further,’ says Dr Annette Kerkhoff, KomZet O.S.T. and member of the World Congress workshop committee.
DFS is also present at the World Congress – among other things, in the symposium ‘Stage-appropriate care for diabetic foot syndrome’ and in practice-oriented workshops on wound management, AI-supported analysis, 3D printing and digital processes.
The offerings are aimed not only at orthopaedic footwear professionals, but also at prosthetists and orthotists, medical supply store salespeople, doctors, therapists and cost bearers.
"With its combination of a leading international trade fair, a global specialist audience and an interdisciplinary and interprofessional congress programme, OTWorld 2026 is the central meeting place for orthopaedic footwear technology," emphasises Tino Sprekelmeyer, Studiengemeinschaft Orthopädieschuhtechnik e. V.
