Ankle – Conservative/Surgical
4:45 PM -
6:00 PM
Wed, 15 May
Short description
Participants gain insights into diagnostics and stage-appropriate therapy for osteoarthritis of the ankle: For slight to moderate osteoarthritis, good treatment success can be achieved through conservative therapy with insoles, supports, inner shoes, anti-inflammatory medications and osteoarthritis modulating infiltrations – with hyaluronan, for example. When conservative treatment fails, there are stage-appropriate surgical treatment options such as arthroscopy techniques and cartilage replacement methods as well as axis correction/repositioning surgery. Arthrodesis or prosthesis implantation are available as a last resort.
