                        Short description
This session will focus on how composites material advances are impacting orthotics science. Owing to pre-impregnated materials becoming mainstream and the increase in the variety of the fibers adapted to orthotics applications, the ability of orthotists to offer lower weight and higher-strength devices to their patients is improving. Through a focus on the KAFO applications, we will discuss how the use of advanced composite materials can positively impact patient outcomes and in some cases simplify designs. This session will include a review of a few case studies.
