About us
ahoi e.V. is a non-profit association for people with upper limb differences and their families in Germany.
Our theme at the fair: Personal experience meets orthopaedic technology
The associations ahoi e.V., BMAB e.V., BuPFT e.V. and LVAmpNRW e.V. are organising a joint self-help stall with hands-on experience stations at OTWorld. Here, visitors can experience for themselves how different forms of disability affect everyday life – for example, when walking, grasping, standing or using assistive devices. The stations “One-handed in everyday life” and “Walking with self-experience prostheses” bridge the gap between the lived realities of people with disabilities and orthopaedic technology: they demonstrate why precisely fitted care, good adaptation and user-oriented development of assistive devices are so important. The stand invites visitors to shift their perspective, engage in dialogue with those affected and gain fresh insights into needs-based care.
