Optimized Lumbamed® Braces from medi
medi has comprehensively optimized the comfort line of its proven Lumbamed back braces. The upgrades are specifically designed to improve fit, enhance comfort, and make the braces easier to use.
New: Each brace is available in a unisex version, and with additional sizes, waist and hip circumferences of up to 170 cm can now be accommodated (sizes I through VII). The Lumbamed plus, Lumbamed basic, Lumbamed facet, Lumbamed disc, and Lumbamed sacro are available for order immediately. Later this year, the Lumbamed pro will join the medi comfort line as another back orthosis—details to follow. For years, the Lumbamed comfort line has been used in conservative and, in some cases, postoperative therapy for back pain—such as nonspecific low back pain, pain in the sacroiliac joint, facet joint osteoarthritis, or disc injuries. This range includes the Lumbamed plus, Lumbamed basic, Lumbamed facet, Lumbamed disc, and Lumbamed sacro. The following three features are new: • The previous 12% polyester content of the knit fabric has been completely replaced by the innovative SEAQUAL YARN, a yarn made from recycled PET bottles—this corresponds to an average of one 1-liter PET bottle per brace. Thanks to the combination of high-tech and natural fibers such as eucalyptus, the knit fabric is particularly gentle on the skin, making the orthosis comfortable to wear. The SEAQUAL YARN used is certified according to the Global Recycled Standard and consists of 10 percent marine plastic and 90 percent plastic bottles from land-based sources. • A comfort zone with 2-zone knit fabric that ensures easy donning and a comfortable fit—while maintaining proven stability. The new 2-zone knit fabric consists of a stretch zone on the sides and a firmer stabilization zone in the back. • A useful fastening aid that makes it particularly easy for patients to close their orthosis.
