Enabling Participation – Practical Approaches to Neurological Conditions

Short description

Participation in people with neurological conditions does not arise from isolated interventions, but from the interdisciplinary collaboration of different professional groups. Orthopaedic treatment and care plays a central yet often underestimated role in this process, not least due to methodological challenges. The workshop conveys the fundamentals and limitations of evidence-based orthopaedic treatment and care and, using practice-oriented examples, presents modern treatment concepts to promote mobility, autonomy and quality of life. In addition, the importance of the social environment - particularly for children after stroke - is highlighted, with a focus on early diagnosis, information, self-help initiatives and stroke support coordinators for children. Participants will gain concise, practice-relevant insights for their everyday professional work.
