The interim orthopaedic shoe is a lightweight, usually thermoplastically moldable, custom-made orthopaedic shoe for temporary use in the early phase of illness or rehabilitation. It is produced using an individual last or plaster cast and includes an appropriate bedding (at least up to 3.5 cm). The socket and base work are adapted to the damage pattern.
