Program Items
You will gain insight into current developments in individualised prosthetic treatment: How do design, material and user training interact when it comes to user-specific socket concepts for transfemoral amputations (“situational sockets”), thermoplastic liners as the key to precise residual limb treatment, and comparative results of active and passive microprocessor-controlled knee prostheses? In addition, you will learn about the significance of individual prosthetic-use training for functional and psychosocial rehabilitation, particularly in cases of arm amputation.
You will learn how targeted nerve reconstruction, vibrotactile feedback or sensors can relieve phantom pain or restore lost functions. In addition, you will learn how to integrate the knowledge gained about pain and rehabilitation into your treatment practice.
