Chris Baschuk, MPO, CPO, FAAOP(D), is a clinician, researcher, and advocate specializing in upper limb prosthetics with a focus on partial hand rehabilitation. He currently serves as Director of Clinical Services for Point Designs, where he integrates additive manufacturing and silicone customization into prosthetic solutions for individuals with partial hand and finger differences.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah, where he conducted research on osseointegration for prosthetic applications. He holds a Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics from UT Southwestern Medical Center and completed his residency at Kootenai Prosthetics and Orthotics in Post Falls, Idaho.
He is an elected member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and serves as Chair of the Academy’s Scientific Societies Committee, where he helps guide the Academy’s research and professional development priorities. He has previously chaired the Upper Limb Prosthetics Society. Chris was honored as a Fellow with Distinction by the Academy and has received the NCOPE Larry Lange Travel Fellowship as well as two OPERF awards. His work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and he lectures internationally on socket design, additive manufacturing, and access to care.
Beyond his clinical and academic pursuits, Chris is a passionate advocate for preserving and expanding access to prosthetic rehabilitation. He lives in Centerville, Utah, with his wife Shannon and their five children.
