Kurzbeschreibung
"In a quest to further refine an ankle stabilising mechanism in an existing ankle orthosis model, two central aspects have been redeveloped: the matching of the geometry of brace and ankle, and the interplay of rigidity and flexibility in the new Push Aequi stabilising concept.
The result is the new Flex-Protect® system. This achievement creates a highly comfortable and stable brace, with absolute minimum material volume. Substantiated by tests with a state-of-the-art testing device from Fraunhofer institute, this brace reaches top levels of stabilisation. The fact the brace can be used in any shoe, and its comfortable fit to the foot, contributes to patient compliance and the succes of therapy.
This workshop takes you through the steps of development and shows you how the development process was supported by thorough research."
Beschreibung
"In a quest to further refine an ankle stabilising mechanism in an existing ankle orthosis model, two central aspects have been redeveloped: The matching of the geometry of ankle and brace, and the interplay of rigidity and flexibility in the Push Aequi stabilising concept.
Firstly, the shape and stabilising properties of the rigid medial part have been optimised to fit the contours of ankle anatomy. The match between shape and average foot and ankle dimensions in different size categories was made by means of 3D modelling based on scans.
Secondly, a new combination of rigid and flexible materials was selected for the production of 2K injection-moulded splint forms, to form a rigid 3D core with flexible rims. A combination of rigid and flexible materials was also chosen for the closing system, a bonded construction consisting of non-elastic and elastic fabrics. This completed the Push Aequi Flex-Protect® system.
The brace offers additional comfort, and at the same time provides the optimal stability for acute treatment and prevention purposes. In order to substantiate the level of stability offered, a new method of testing, developed by the Fraunhofer insitute, was used during development. The design proves it is possible to further refine the Push Aequi ankle brace without decreasing stabilising properties.
This workshop takes you through the steps of development and shows you how the development process was supported by thorough research.
The result is a highly comfortable and stable brace, with the use of minimum material volume. The fact the brace can be used in any shoe, and its comfortable fit to the foot, contributes to patient compliance and the succes of therapy."
