The press tour will begin at 10:00 a.m. in Exhibition Hall 3, at Stand D04. The following exhibitors will have approx. 15 min. slots each in which to present their latest product highlights:
Ottobock (Hall 5, Stand D09)
The experience of innovation. Ottobock enables us to see the progress in orthopaedic technology for ourselves: the new generation of computer-controlled C-Brace orthotic systems is smaller, lighter and more intuitive – offering considerable hope for people currently in a wheelchair, but who will be able to walk again with this system.
With their innovative ‘pattern recognition’ system, Ottobock are presenting a control system for myoelectric prosthetic arms that is capable of learning and adapting – a technological leap in the major current changes that are being felt in the sector.
A further highlight at their stand is the digitalisation of manufacture for modern orthopaedic aids. The Ottobock team will demonstrate broadly how, by linking together 3D-printing, the use of CAD/CAM procedures and digital milling and shaping technology, we can revolutionise the workshop processes to the user’s advantage.
Prof. Hans Georg Näder, chairperson of the management board of Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA, and the president of Ottobock Holding, will be present on the stand during the tour.
Bauerfeind (Hall 5, Stand C01)
Orthoses for patients with medium and advanced osteoarthritis. Their 2-in-1 SecuTec OA is a world-first that Bauerfeind are bringing onto the market: SecuTec OA enables a varus or valgus adjustment in a single product, thus relieving either lateral or medial pain in the knee, using the three-point principle.
With their Therapy App, Bauerfeind show themselves to be more digitally committed than ever before. Developed with the help of physiotherapists and doctors, their app contains individualised exercise programmes for patients with knee problems.
Sports personality: freestyle skier Andrea Limbacher tore a cruciate ligament in 2016 and had another heavy fall in January 2017, shortly after the rehabilitation phase, when she was just starting ski-training again. But, with the help of Bauerfeind products, she made it to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
Össur (Hall 1, Stand C06)
With their world-renowned Unloader® braces for sufferers of arthritis in the knee, Össur have paved the way for the conservative treatment of arthritis. At OTWorld, the company will be presenting their latest new addition, the ÖSSUR FORMFIT PRO KNEE OA. This device has been developed to maintain patients’ mobility in the early stages of arthritis, as well as to prevent further degradation of the cartilage in the joint.
High-heels and prosthetic legs. The new Pro-Flex LP Algin prosthetic foot enables the height of the heel to be adjusted at the push of a button, in order to allow it to be worn with shoes of different heel heights, thus contributing significantly to day-to-day comfort and convenience. Lisa Brockschmidt, who lost both lower limbs when she was nine years old, will be available during the press tour to answer questions as a user.
Professor and DJ with a bionic prosthetic hand. The i-limb quantum is currently the most innovative, multi-articulating, bionic prosthetic hand on the market. Bertolt Meyer, Professor of Psychology at the Technical University in Chemnitz, himself a user of the hand, will be there during the tour of the exhibition. He was born without a left lower arm and now sees the i-limb as part of his body. The latest developments will be presented by René Schiller, Managing Director of Össur Deutschland GmbH.
Medi (Hall 1, Stand D14)
Lymphology. Manufacturers of medical compression stockings, adaptive compression treatments, bandages, orthoses, anti-thrombosis compression stockings, compression clothing and shoe inserts, Medi will be presenting their newly developed lymphology products at their exhibition stand.
RUSSKA (Hall 3, Stand F22)
Electric mobility scooter in a suitcase. The ATTO mobility scooter is particularly appealing because of the everyday practicality of its construction. When required, it can be ready to go in a few seconds and, at the same time, it folds to the size of a suitcase on wheels and is then easily stored away.
Detailed measuring of blood pressure. OMRON EVOLV addresses the problem of inaccurate results when taking blood pressure. The Intelli Wrap cuff technology guarantees 360° accuracy in any position on the upper arm.
