The Programme Committee establishes the major themes for the World Congress
The framework for the 2014 World Congress was put forward and adopted at the first meeting of the Programme Committee, in November 2012 in Dortmund.
The framework for the 2014 World Congress was put forward and adopted at the first meeting of the Programme Committee, in November 2012 in Dortmund. The major topics, the keynote speakers, the scheduling and the overall structure of the event were all formally accepted.
The members of the committee, together, represent both skilled workers associations and scientific organisations. The committees composition reflects the aims of the inter-disciplinary event. Active members of the Programme Steering Committee, alongside representatives of Leipziger Messe and Confairmed GmbH, are: Klaus-Jürgen Lotz, Matthias Bauche, Dr. Frank Braatz, Lars Jäger, Detlef Kokegei, Dr. Franz Landauer, Michael Schäfer, Dr. Urs Schneider, Andrea Rädlein, Axel Sigmund, Prof. Dr. Greitemann and Jürgen Stumpf. The responsibility for the scientific oversight of the World Congress falls to Prof. Dr. Wolfram Mittelmeier, Director of the Orthopaedic Clinic and Polyclinic at the University Hospital, Rostock and President of the 2012 German Congress for Orthopaedic and Accident Surgery (DKOU-Kongress) on behalf of the German Association of Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery (DGOOC).
