In October, OTWorld 2020 will be held as a combination on-site trade show and extensive online programme
More importantly, OTWorld.connect will bring the global industry together. Leipziger Messe is now once again able to hold events after receiving approval for our hygiene concept. OTWorld will open its doors both in Leipzig (OTWorldOnSite) and online (OTWorldOnAir) from 27-29 October 2020. Over the past few months, we have been working on a concept that will allow us to adapt to changes in the market and meet the demands of the industry.
OTWorld 2020 will connect the industry's international community, in these times of uncertainty and upheaval worldwide, with a hybrid concept both digitally and on location in Leipzig. In order to highlight the special features of OTWorld 2020, "connect" was added to the end of the name - OTWorld.connect 2020.
"New challenges require new solutions. Currently, there are plenty of challenges, and our solutions are just as diverse. As the world's leading trade show, OTWorld is responsible for ensuring that, especially in times of crisis, it is possible for professionals to meet and exchange ideas with each other. The market is in a state of flux and companies need a platform to present their innovations. The OTWorld.connect 2020 concept provides exactly this. The specially developed digital programmes enable you to reach even larger international target groups by taking time zones into account. Visitors will be fully immersed in an entirely new trade show experience. We are very much looking forward to OTWorld.connect 2020," explains Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe.
Congress: A focus on advanced training and interactions - OnAir and OnSite
Under the leadership of Prof Dr Christoph Josten, Managing Director of the Clinic for Orthopaedics, Trauma Surgery and Plastic Surgery at Leipzig University Hospital, and master orthopaedic technician Michael Schäfer, Managing Director of Pohlig GmbH, the programme will give a special focus on care under pandemic conditions in addition to the scientific and technical content already confirmed by the programme committee. The bilingual congress will be live-streamed. This will enable on-site and digital viewers to participate in the subsequent Q&A session. Furthermore, international speakers will also be connected across time zones to hold international live lectures. In addition to the specialist topics of the lectures, career and health policy issues that focus on care during and after the Corona crisis will also be discussed. OnSite participants will also be able to benefit from exclusive offers.
Trade show connect: A focus on exchanges and networking
"The OTWorld is the leading trade show for all professionals involved in patient care with medical aids. Many of our patients belong to a vulnerable group and need to be able to rely on us during these difficult times. New courses need to be charted and innovations piloted. It's not possible to simply sit back and wait for it all to be over in the current climate. In this light, it was clear to us from the very beginning of the crisis that we need an industry meeting more than ever now to develop new concepts for the future. Together with our partner, Leipziger Messe, we have succeeded in doing so," says Alf Reuter, President of the German Association of Orthopaedic Technology - the patron of OTWorld.
To emphasize the addition of "connect", a forum in the trade show hall takes centre stage at this year's OTWorld exhibition. The German Association of Orthopaedic Technology (BIV-OT) will hold health policy discussions and provide on-site participants with a platform to exchange ideas and network. Complete stands with digital components for more interaction at the stand, a studio where brands, themes and product presentations as well as interviews can be broadcasted live from the event, tours of the exhibition and interactive workshops of the exhibitors are only some of the offers for both on-site and online exhibition participants. The show will also feature digital showrooms to present innovations. To ensure that online networking is not neglected, a digital matchmaking networking room is also being planned.
The whole OTWorld 2020 programme will be available on the event homepage in August 2020: www.ot-world.com. Social events will also be held, information on which can also be found in August on the homepage.
Safety first: The Hygiene concept for OTWorld.connect 2020
The health and safety for exhibitors, visitors and employees is the top priority for Leipziger Messe, the German Association of Orthopaedic Technology (BIV-OT) and for Confairmed. Last week the Leipziger Messe developed a comprehensive hygiene and safety concept, which was approved by the German authorities and is now being implemented - first among all exhibition venues in Germany! This hygiene concept has been further refined for OTWorld.connect in consultation with the BIV-OT, the leading association of service providers, to better meet the needs of our industry:
Overview of the most important points:
- OTWorld.connect is aware of its responsibility as the leading trade show for the healthcare industry. Therefore, we are planning to make masks compulsory for all exhibitors, visitors and employees/service providers in accordance with the current regulations.
- The recommended minimum distance of 1.5 metres must be observed by everyone at all exhibition stands, in lecture rooms and in common areas.
The entire hygiene concept can be found on the event homepage.
