Sharing knowledge and expertise at international level: OTWorld team in the USA

At the ‘German Day’, to be held as part of the AOPA World Congress from 6 to 9 September, German know-how will be presented at this USA trade show and marketplace. The OTWorld team will be part of the delegation.

The OTWorld team will join others in Las Vegas at the beginning of September, not least to establish contacts and to convey their congratulations – the AOPA will be celebrating its100th birthday.

Confairmed GmbH, the official cooperation partner of the AOPA World Congress, has once again managed to get some distinguished speakers onboard for the ‘German Day’, on 7 September, to present cutting-edge German specialist knowledge in the USA and to provide insights into what amounts to a showcase for current technical orthopaedics. CPO Michael Schäfer, CPO Olaf Gawron and CPO Merkur Alimusaj will present the topic of “Setting Quality Standards in Upper and Lower Limb Prosthetics – German Principles of Prosthetic Fittings in Upper and Lower Limb Prosthetics”. In this session, the speakers will introduce the German quality standards for upper and lower extremity prosthetics and give a foretaste of next year’s OTWorld in Leipzig.

With the German Day in 2009, Confairmed GmbH launched, for the first time, a dedicated programme to showcase German technical orthopaedics at international trade shows and exhibitions. Lectures by representatives of the worlds of science, technology and industry will demonstrate the high levels of specialist knowledge and expertise to be found in orthopaedic technology in Germany. Other sessions that will be held in the course of the ‘German Day’ include: “Analyzing the Tissue Socket Interface”, “New Technologies for Prosthetics and Orthotics”, “Innovative Transfemoral Socket Design” and “Pediatric UE Functional Orthotics for Children with Neuromuscular Diseases”.

The team of OTWorld will have their own stand (No. 960) at the show. The focus will be both on the discovery of new products, which might also interest the public of OTWorld, and on networking with international experts and companies.
