A novel method of measuring pistoning and rotation inside a socket during dynamic activity when wearing single suspension and dual suspension

A variable stiffness prosthetic foot using Shear Thickening Fluid (STF); concept, design and first user perception

Zusammenfassung: The unique properties of STF, characterized by a sharp viscosity increase at a critical shear rate, is employed in a speed dependent variable stiffness prosthetic foot. Resulting foot force response ranges from compliant and damped behavior, to spring like energy return.

Analysis of sensitivity and correlation of selected self-reported clinical outcomes in lower-limb prosthetic application based on real world data

Ten amputees with K2 (MFCL) activity level were recruited and evaluated in 2 different prosthetic feet. Parameters that quantify stability and movement in standing and walking are presented.

Pressure measurements in prosthetic sockets of transfemoral amputees during ambulation and the relationship with socket fit: A Systematic Review.

Zusammenfassung: The review presents pressure data at the stump-socket interface of transfemoral amputees (TFAs) during normal gait. Eight scientific papers were analysed to suggest a quantitative relationship between pressure and socket fitting conditions, and to propose experimental protocols for future studies.
