Vortrag Wissenschaft/Handwerk

Development of key performance indicators for prosthetic feet Simplifying description of the complex mechanical characteristics of prosthetic feet

Zusammenfassung: A machine based test method is used to collect comparable mechanical data from prosthetic feet. From the findings combined key performance indicators are developed to give a comprehensive insight in the foot mechanics that shall help clinicians to select the optimal foot for the patient.

Vortrag Wissenschaft/Handwerk

Biomechanische Wirkung eines Karbonfaserfußes mit großem Bewegungsumfang bei Steigungen

Zusammenfassung: Conventional prosthetic feet do not allow for an appropriate adaptation to inclines. Amputees have to compensate for this by modifying lower limb kinematics and kinetics. 3D gait analysis showed that a new carbon fibre foot equipped with a pivot unit might help in this condition.

Vortrag Wissenschaft/Handwerk

Gehen auf Schrägen mit sich abrupt ändernden Steigungen: Bewegungsmuster von Unterschenkelamputierten bei Verwendung eines mikroprozessorgesteuerten bzw. eines herkömmlichen Prothesenfußes

Zusammenfassung: In the present paper, walking on uneven ground - challenging for lower limb amputees - is analysed using a specifically developed measurement device. Comparisons of the biomechanical parameters of conventional and microprocessor-controlled feet revealed the benefit of using the new technology.

Vortrag Wissenschaft/Handwerk

Energy expenditure during self-paced walking with two different prosthetic feet

Zusammenfassung: Increasing the ankle push-off power of a prosthesis might be beneficial in decreasing energy expenditure of transtibial amputees. Pro-flex and Vari-flex were tested during level- and slope walking. Self-paced speed was higher with the Pro-flex. No clear differences were found in walking effiency.

Vortrag Wissenschaft/Handwerk

Wie mikroprozessor-gesteuerte Prothesenfüße Beinamputierte beim Stehen und Gehen auf Rampen unterstützen können

Zusammenfassung: Standing and walking on ramps with different microprocessor controlled prosthetic feet were investigated with lower limb amputees. Different key features of the prosthetic feet could be identified which help amputees to stand and walk in a more natural manner.
