Natural Motion – An effortless walking experience through smart and responsive control

Össur’s Rheo Leg delivers a natural and effortless walking experience in a robust design through use of the world’s first and only magnetorheologic (MR) actuator coupled with intuitive programming capabilities that learn and adapt to the patient’s unique walking style.   Clinical evidence conducted with the RHEO KNEE compared to previous versions and two hydraulic MPKs, showed significant improvements in user’s ability to walk further and faster. The 6-minute walk test revealed that users on the RHEO KNEE walked longer distances and faster than on other MPKs. The satisfaction levels of the test subjects revealed that users could walk faster and further, and their mobility increased in comparison to their usual MPK. These outcomes are delivered by the Rheo Leg’s effortless swing initiation capabilities.
