We developed a passive, self-aligning ankle that mimics the non-linear stiffness of a natural ankle in all three planes of motion. Clinical evaluations indicate that the novel ankle can reduce the effect of misalignment by lowering socket moment.

A modular ankle-3D printed feet system was designed to improve footwear options for persons with lower limb amputations. Shoe-specific 3D printed feet can easily be attached/removed from the compact ankle unit. Improving footwear options may lead to improved body image and participation for users.

The TD is a newly developed passive ankle-foot prosthesis. Preliminary results are encouraging and indicate increased comfort with the TD during different walking tasks compared to the participant’s current prosthesis. Further investigations will continue to probe potential benefits of the TD.
