Development of a turning task test-protocol which reflects an every day situation to observe effects of torsion adapter in amputees

Abstract: This study was performed to establish a test set-up to monitor the effect of torsion cells in prosthetic feet. A cued turning task test was developed and different timing was tested. Basic turning strategies are determined and the best possible cuing time for amputees is determined.

Biomechanics of sit-to-stand and stand-to-sit movements in unilateral transfemoral amputees using powered and non-powered prosthetic knees

Abstract: During sit-to-stand and stand-to-sit movements, powered prosthetic knee resulted in greater weight distribution symmetry between intact and prosthetic limbs, compared to a microprocessor controlled non-powered knee. Active power generation by the knee is advantageous for these functional activities

Abstract: To quantify the dynamic gait characteristics of prosthetic feet, we have developed the measuring method of three dimensional locus of force contact point on foot-sole under the fixed stance phase loading from heel contact to toe-off generated by the testing device based on ISO22675 standard.
