Abstract: |
Transfemoral socket design and fit management are challenging, and there appear to be divergent trends among German and US prosthetists regarding brim designs. Research evidence regarding ischial containment and sub-ischial socket designs will be reviewed from biomechanical and patient-centric perspectives. Attendees will also learn standardized impression taking and modifying techniques for both designs from leading clinical experts from the US and Germany.
