Call for Papers "Covid19"
For the last twenty years OTWorld has been evolving into the major international platform for patients’ care supplying medical devices.
In February, we still found ourselves in the comfortable position of offering a congress programme both international and inter-professional, registering more than 300 contributions to the World Congress. But in early March, the coronavirus pandemic forced us to adapt to a radically new situation.
As a result of the events of the past few months, the question now arises as to how care with medical devices has been provided and will continue, particularly in times of change and uncertainty. In the World Congress of OTWorld.connect, we would like to give additional room to these new and extraordinary circumstances and the resulting emerging innovations in the day-to-day provision of patients’ care. Thus, we cordially invite you to submit proposals referring to the corona pandemic.
Submissions on the following questions regarding the work situation during the coronavirus pandemic are requested:
- How has the pandemic affected your day-to-day provision of patients’ care? What difficulties/challenges did you face and how were they solved?
- What measures introduced during the pandemic will continue after the pandemic?
- What insights do you take away from this particular situation?
- What innovations have resulted from the pandemic?

OTWorld will open its doors both in Leipzig (OTWorldOnSite) and online (OTWorldOnAir) from 27-29 October 2020. Thereby, OTWorld 2020 will connect the industry's international community, in these times of uncertainty and upheaval worldwide, with a concept both digitally and on location in Leipzig. In order to highlight the special features of OTWorld 2020, "connect" was added to the end of the name – OTWorld.connect 2020.
